The shareholders of the company Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock mbH (port management company) are the Hanseatic City of Rostock (74.9%) and the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (25.1%).
Purpose and tasks:
- Management, development and maintenance of port infrastructure,
- Leasing of property and real estate for the establishment of businesses in the industrial area of the Rostock sea port as well as the provision of services and utilities.
The management and supervision of the company are comprised of the managing director of Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft, Dr. Ulrich Bauermeister, the shareholder’s meeting and the supervisory board. In accordance with the distribution of shares, this is composed of representatives of the city (four) and of the state (two). The chairman of the supervisory board is Mr Götz Kreuzer.
The company is committed to a policy of competitive neutrality towards all companies in the Rostock Sea Port. These companies receive support in the realisation of infrastructural requirements and in the application for funding with the state government.
Employing over 170 employees, Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock is among the largest employers in the port along with Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH, Seehafen Rostock Umschlagsgesellschaft mbH including its subsidiary companies, EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH, Schiffsversorgung Rostock GmbH, Gesamthafenbetrieb, Hafenbildungszentrum Rostock and Grosstanklager-Ölhafen Rostock GmbH.
Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft ISO certified
In July 2005, Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock received the
certificate from Germanischer Lloyd Certification GmbH for certification
according to the 'DIN EN ISO 9001:2000' standard.
With this certification, Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft has proven that its
operations meet the highest requirements of the ISO standard. These
operations include the development, operation and expansion of the port
infrastructure, leasing of property and buildings as well as the marketing
of the location.
In June 2010 the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 standard changed to certifikate ´ISO 9001:2008´.
