German-Swedish network meeting in the Rostock overseas port

At the invitation of ROSTOCK PORT GmbH and Trelleborgs Hamn AB / Port of Trelleborg, a high-level German-Swedish network meeting took place in the Rostock overseas port on August 31, 2023.

Dr. Gernot Tesch, Managing Director of ROSTOCK PORT GmbH and Jörgen Nilsson, CEO Port of Trelleborg, welcomed representatives from Green Cargo, SSAB, ScandFibre Logistics AB, Kvarken Ports Ltd and Stena Line, as well as representatives from the Swedish Embassy, the Schwerin Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the media, to discuss the challenges and potential of trade relations between Germany and Sweden, especially related to the Rostock-Trelleborg ferry connection.

Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns Minister of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour, Reinhard Meyer, Rostock's Lord Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger, Trelleborg's Mayor Ann Kajson Carlqvist and Katrin Zschau, Member of the Parliament (Bundestag), gave meaningful insights into German-Swedish cooperation. Green transformation, infrastructure and redundancy in rail transport between Germany and Sweden were at the top of the agenda.

Once again it became clear: personal meetings are the key to deeper cooperation - to leverage potential, strengthen trade and value chains and master common challenges between two of Europe's closest neighboring countries.
