History of the Rostock Seaport
- June 2008
- official opening of pipe producing plant "EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH"
- DB Schenker opens a new direct train connection between Rostock seaport and Wels in Austria. The so called „Danube Nordic Shuttle“ runs twice a week from now. - April 2008
- The first section of the newly built berth P8 in shipyard basin is put into operation. - January 2008
- Rostock´s port was able to surpass the previous year’s results and record an increase in cargo throughput of 1.3 million tonnes (up 5 percent) over 2006’s figures. The gross cargo volume of 26.5 million tonnes marks a new record high.
- December 2007
- The modernization of track systems at the Rostock seaport has been completed. 38 km of new tracks were installed and 93 switches renewed. - June 2007
- Opening of berth 10 of port basin C for handling of heavy and unwieldy cargo.
- Official celebration of "EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH" for laying of the foundation stone at the facility.

- Completion of expansion of berth 60 to a Roll-on / Roll-off berth and dismantling of the container bridge at this site - August 2006
- Company "Power Oil Rostock GmbH" puts into operation the largest oil mill in Germany - May 2006

- Completion of extension of the terminal for intermodal traffic

- Shipping agency "Scandlines" doubles frequency to Latvia from two to four depatures per week and changes the port from Liepaja to Ventspils - July 2005
- Start of the modernisation project of the railway tracks within the Rostock Port and the expansion of the terminal for combined cargo - May 2005
- Officially opening of the "Warnemünde Cruise Center" - April 2005
- 45 th birthday of the Rostock Port and open day at "Warnemünde Cruise Center" - April 2005
- The Greek shipping company "Attica Holding" starts operating a corgo line from Rostock to Uusikaupunki /Finland. Two RoRo-vessels are in service three times a week between the two ports

- Completion of construction for the 25-hectare maritime industrial area at the northern end of pier III, one of the most comprehensive construction projects in the history of the seaport since its opening in 1960 - September 2004
- Beginning of construction of the cruise ship terminal ‘Warnemünde Cruise Center’

- Opening of Rotterdam-Rostock land bridge (shuttle rail connection from Rotterdam via Duisburg to Rostock) - September 2003
- Ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a production facility for the Liebherr company

- Cargo handling of 22.2 million tonnes was achieved, the highest result in the 42-year history of the port
