Interior Transport Connections – Road

Cargo can reach and leave the port via the motorways A20 and A19 Berlin-Rostock, which runs right into the heart of the port, by rail or via pipeline Rostock-Schwedt or Rostock-Boehlen/Leuna.

Electrified railroad lines lead from the port railway station via Magdeburg or Berlin to the interior.

A rail marshalling yard with 180 km of track is located just outside the port grounds and there are an additional 45 km of track and a combined transport terminal on the port grounds itself.

The freight transport centre is located about three kilometres south-east of the port grounds. It has about 70 hectares of industrial real estate.

The airport Rostock-Laage is located about 40 km from the port and offers scheduled domestic flights as well as charter flights from leading travel agencies to international destinations.
