Outlook for the 2026 cruise season

On December 11, the cruise ship Borealis, owned by the English shipping company Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, is expected to arrive in the Baltic resort of Warnemünde at around 8:30 a.m. The 238-meter-long ship departed from Portsmouth on December 8 for a Christmas market cruise in the Baltic Sea and will set course for Riga tomorrow at around 9:30 p.m.

The Amadea, owned by Phönix Reisen, has registered for the last cruise port of the year in Warnemünde on December 17. The well-known vacation ship will arrive in the Baltic resort from Malmö at around 9 a.m. on that day and continue on to Wismar the next morning.

The 2026 cruise season begins at the end of March with the AIDAdiva

"The 2026 cruise season in Warnemünde begins with the arrival of the AIDAdiva on March 29. So far, 163 calls by 35 cruise ships from 20 national and international cruise companies have been registered for the coming year. For example, the Rostock-based shipping company AIDA Cruises will make 65 exchange calls at its home port of Warnemünde with the AIDAdiva and the AIDAmar," said Dr. Gernot Tesch, Managing Director of ROSTOCK PORT GmbH.

Three cruise ships will call at the Warnow estuary for the first time in the new year: Evrima from the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection on July 18, Senic Eclipse II from Scenic Ocean on August 21, and Seven Seas Grandeur from Regent Seven Seas Cruises on August 23.

Of the 163 calls, 95 were registered as passenger changeover calls and 68 as transit calls.

The 2026 cruise season is expected to end on December 29 with the arrival of the Spirit of Adventure from the English shipping company Saga Cruises.

"In the 2025 season, 165 ship calls by 35 cruise ships with 592,000 passengers were registered at the cruise port of Warnemünde. The passenger ships used environmentally friendly shore power for a total of 2.2 million kilowatt hours during 75 calls. Cruise ships docked at the port of Warnemünde on 126 of the 365 days of the year," summarizes ROSTOCK PORT Managing Director Jens A. Scharner.
